Getting There

If you live in a large US city or in London or Paris, getting to Eleuthera through air travel is easy. Eleuthera is only one hour by air east of Miami, Florida and airline connections to Miami and nearby Fort Lauderdale are good and air fares cheap. You can also fly to Eleuthera from Nassau - capital of the Bahamas - Nassau to Governor's Harbour is only 20 minutes by air or 2 hours by Fast Ferry.

From the US - Florida - non-stop to Eleuthera

To visit Tequila Sunset Bahamas, you want to fly into North Eleuthera (ELH- about 20 minutes away) or Gonernor's Harbour (GHB- about 35 minutes away).

From Miami (MIA), take US Airways or Continental into Governor's Harbour (GHB).

From Fort Lauderdale (FLL), 20 miles north of Miami, You can fly either into North Eleuthera (ELH) or Governor's Harbour (GHB) in Central Eleuthera on Continental or Island Express.

Another alternative from FLL is Lynx Air who operate direct flights into North Eleuthera and Governor's Harbour.

If you like small airplanes then fly Twin Air from the Jet Center next to Ft. Lauderdale airport - into North Eleuthera (ELH), Governor's Harbour (GHB) or Rock Sound (RSD).

From major US destinations non-stop into Nassau

According to all the ads we've seen in US papers, you can get some great discount air fare to Miami (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL). FLL is 20 miles north of Miami and there's a shuttle between the two airports.

You will also find excellent discount air fares New York to Nassau non-stop. From Nassau it's a 20 minute flight to Eleuthera on Bahamas Air or Southern Air, or you can take a Fast Ferry (2 hour ride).

Air travel to Eleuthera from Europe

If you're coming from Europe, the best way is air travel to Eleuthera by Air France 747's from Paris. Ride those discount air fare tickets non-stop into Miami or you can fly from London non-stop by British Airways or Virgin Atlantic into Nassau. Particularly from Virgin should you be able to get a cheap airfare to Nassau. From there it's 20 minutes to Eleuthera.

International Airports in Eleuthera

Eleuthera has three airports. All are international ones and all runways are in good conditions. 6'000 to 7'000 feet long... quite impressive for a Bahamian Out-Island.
